colourblindGallery understands, that its activity is concentrated on the highly developed art-market, which the art-market of Cologne and Germany may be considered. However, even on such a mature market it is possible to find its niche and its own audience. Our name and our concept among others reflect the paradoxical phenomenon of Art: a human can see only, what he has learned to see or is used to see. Everybody sometimes should become colourblind to feel like others feel and to understand the others’ viewpoints, trying to see what others can see.
When choosing its exhibitors, colourblindGallery is guided by the world tendency of internationalisation of Art. This is the reason why we are introducing presently little known artists from different parts of the world to western spectators. According to our opinion, although not famous yet, they are doubtlessly talented and represent a value for the world heritage. In particular, artists from Eastern Europe and Russia are underrepresented on this market and therefore became a focus of colourblindGallery. We reckon that the process of introduction, recognition and acceptance of these artists by the public and collectors takes time, resources and power. At the same time we are sure that making our choice, based on experience and knowledge, we make the right steps under the current conditions.
The core activity of colourblindGallery is a result of the close co-operation of a triad, where the artist, the gallery and the buyer are the main players and equal parts of the creative process. The Gallery doesn’t consider itself as a mercantile broker on the art market, but defines its place as a producer or director of the finishing scene of birth of the work of art, when it starts living independently of the artist’s will.
colourblindGallery doesn’t favour one type of Art over another. Moreover it bases its choice exceptionally on its own and subjective understanding of the Art not being boring, being new and unique and possessing distinctive qualities. This is what the Gallery exhibits and offers for sale. According to our opinion, art should create positive emotions, inspire and contribute to develop one’s own creativity. These effects do result from the highly professional level of the exhibited works, their originality and the conceptual identity of the exhibition.
Our target audience is first of all people between 28 - 40 years old. They are professionally successful and possess an aesthetical and investment interest for Art. This category of our spectators has a fundamental theoretical background and deep knowledge of the processes, which take place in the modern culture and especially in the art. When they buy work of arts, they know, that they invest into growing values and at the same time they get satisfaction from collecting objects, which are close to them in mood and in style. And a very important group of our visitors are already experienced collectors. They learned how to pick cherries out of the flood of Art, which might have the highest value in the nearest future. |
